Gratitude and Letting Go: October
Autumn is definitely one of my favourite times to year. I love Thanksgiving (which is coming up here in Canada in just a few short weeks), and I can’t wait until Halloween.
To celebrate the turn of month, I thought it would be fun to do a reading for the month ahead, focusing on what to be thankful for, and what to let go of over the next thirty-one days.
In true autumn aesthetic, I’ve chosen three gourds to represent three pairs of cards. Take a look at the photo below, and choose a set for your message.
After reading your message, let me know in the comments if you feel you chose the right gourd for you!
Be thankful for: Strength
This month is all about owning that inner strength you have – allow it to shine through, and be confident as you continue on your path this month. You are resilient, and courageous. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. You have the quiet power needed to forge ahead.
Let go of: Nine of Cups
Take time this month on working through feelings of disappointment and dissatisfaction by revisiting your expectations, and reevaluating your definitions of happiness and success. Let go of trying to achieve an idealized, Instagram-perfect life, and instead focus on living in a way that’s best for you.
Be thankful for: King of Pentacles
It’s always easier to focus on what we don’t have. This month take a look at all you have earned, gained, and accomplished – you’ll find more on your list than you originally thought. Be thankful for how far you’re come. You’ve worked hard to get where you are, so remember to be proud and share in your successes, no matter how big or how small.
Let go of: Ten of Swords
Pain, disappointment, hardships, endings are all a part of life. It’s time to let go of the pain from the past that you’re still clutching onto. Reflect on what you’ve been through and the lessons you’ve learned. Make a steadfast decision to put things behind you, and move forward into this month with a fresh, new outlook.
Be thankful for: The World
It’s time to wrap up loose ends this month, and be thankful for all that you have to celebrate! Reflect on the journey that you’ve taken this far. Take time out to enjoy the world – go somewhere new, breathe in the fresh autumn (or spring!) air, and prepare for something new.
Let go of: Four of Pentacles
We often get caught up in the daily grind, forgetting that a world exists beyond work and home. This month try to remember that there’s more to life than work and money. Let go of the idea that you need things to make you happy – it’s time to experience life, not just collect pieces of it. Step back for a moment, and be generous with your time.
