Bad Habits, Good Habits: March
My favourite saying for March has always been if it comes in like a lion, it goes out like a lamb. As a family of non-farmer’s, I’m not sure why we’ve always stuck with this one, but every year I hope it to be true.
With spring around the corner, now is a perfect time to release bad habits, and begin to foster new ones. Take a look at the pairs below, and choose which one you feel most drawn to. Scroll down for your message below!
Pair I: The Empress Reversed, Four of Swords
It’s a wonderful trait to be caring, nurturing, and to put others before yourself, but it becomes a bad habit when you stop caring for yourself. The Empress reversed is asking you to work on putting yourself first. It might feel a little selfish, but know that it’s okay to take time out for you. It’s okay to say no when you don’t want to do something, and it’s okay to spend time doing things that make you feel good. Most importantly, don’t depend on others for your personal happiness. You have all the power you need within to feel content and fulfilled.
As a good habit to foster, the Four of Swords tells us that we need more rest, reflection, and recuperation. Set aside time each day this month to meditate, journal, or simply be alone with your thoughts. Get away from the bright screens, and lure of notifications, even if it’s just for a little while. Remember that if we don’t take time to recharge, we won’t have the energy to fight another day.
Pair II: Seven of Cups, Five of Wands
With the Seven of Cups, the bad habit to let go of this month is wishful thinking and indecision. It’s great that there are a variety of paths available to us, but dragging our feet on making a choice can come back to hurt us in the long run. Don’t allow yourself to get overwhelmed. Think things through, and follow your heart. Deep down you know what path you want to take; sometimes it just takes a little listening. Realize that living in the what-ifs or possibilities will never allow you to move forward.
The Five of Wands appears when at work or in our relationships, we’re struggling to be heard. Everyone is talking over each other, there is a lot of tension in the air, and nothing productive is being accomplished. As a good habit to foster, the Five of Wands asks us to take a more diplomatic approach. Be open to new ideas and opinions. Let others say their peace. Take on an active role in communicating, and meshing people’s ideas together. The passion those involved have is a wonderful asset, but it’s up to you to channel it properly.
Pair III: The Fool, Ace of Cups
The Fool has a tendency of acting first, and asking questions later. While spontaneity isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s important this month to work on curbing impulses. By being impulsive this March, you’re taking risks that will likely not pan out as expected. The Fool isn’t asking you to hold back, but instead to go forward in a less reckless, more thought out manner. By doing so, you’ll find yourself on much more stable footing.
The Ace of Cups brings us a lovely habits to foster – improving and maintaining our connections with others, letting our creativity flow, and really digging in and listening to our intuition. This is the perfect time to show your support for those you love. Be compassionate, and open your heart. Know that emotions are not a weakness, but don’t allow yourself to become overwhelmed by them. Use your favourite creative outlet to let off some steam.
I’d love to know in the comments what pair you chose! How are you feeling going into March? Is there any habits you’re looking forward to developing or discarding?
