Midweek check-in! How’s this week treating you Midweek check-in! How’s this week treating you so far? Today’s energy brings us the Lovers paired with the Four of Swords.
The Lovers represents a connection in life with someone you can be yourself around. Who supports you fully? And recognizes you solely for the person you are? Celebrate that bond.
Evaluate the partnerships you have - are they worth your time and effort? It’s not an easy question to consider, but it’s important that you’re not spending energy on those who are dragging you down.
Where the Lovers encourages us to make choices, the Four of Swords asks us to slow down, and take time to contemplate our next move. Today is not for big decisions, but an opportunity to consider our paths ahead.
Who do you want to be in this life? What is your purpose and your beliefs around that purpose? You don’t have to have the answers right away, but these are the questions to meditate on for the remainder of this week.
The Four of Swords indicates there are struggles you’re moving on from. It’s important to know that nothing has to happen overnight. Take time to rest, and to heal. Lean on the support from those deep connections you’ve fostered.
Be true to who you are. You have a lot to offer the world, but without time to recuperate, you’ll suffer from overwhelm and burnout.

Mid-week check-in! How's this week going for you? Mid-week check-in! How's this week going for you?
I’m feeling a bit drained this morning after a night of fitful sleep, but that’s nothing a little tea can’t solve! ☕️
For our check-in, we have two cards to look at: the Two of Spears, and The Devil.
The Two of Spears is all about planning for the future, making appropriate decisions, and stepping outside of your comfort zone. As you progress through the remainder of the week, assess your options. What direction are you heading in? Now is the time to take your first steps whilst keeping the big picture in mind.
With the Devil, we can see that we are being held back. As the Two of Spears encourages us forward, the Devil keeps us trapped in our own fears and self-perceived limitations. It's time to dig into the shadows, and get to the root cause of your trepidation. Your biggest obstacle is yourself. Replace the fear that is holding you back with love and curiosity as you discover your way forward.

Do you believe in past lives? Growing up my best Do you believe in past lives?
Growing up my best friend’s step mom told us about her past lives. She told us about how she had been a man once, and had seen herself walking down an old, cobblestone road.
Her story ignited an interest in past lives for me, and it’s something I always end up jumping back into. I stumbled across this Tarot Spread for Exploring Past Lives by @olivertarot, and had to try it. Swipe to see the spread (I reorganized to make the photo easier).
Card 1: Pisces & Queen of Chalices Reversed
A dreamer, compassionate, highly sensitive, and artistic. With the Queen of Chalices reversed, I get the feeling that I was insecure, and sad or depressed. There is neediness here and a tendency towards moodiness, and while I was likely tuned into my intuition, I had difficulties trusting my gifts.
Card 2: Seven of Wands
I tried to protect those I cared about, and with the Ten of Pentacles further down, I feel like I was protecting my family. I faced a lot of challenges, and due to that, many hardships and emotional exhaustion.
Card 3: Five of Chalices
I was able to let things go and find moments worth celebrating. While the Queen of Chalices reversed shows a moody and overly emotional person, my strength became in pushing beyond those emotions even when they were running rampant.
Card 4: Ten of Pentacles Reversed
It sounds awful to say my weakness was my family, but I feel like it was the kind of relationship where I'd do anything to appease them, which of course isn't healthy. I had financial and maybe health issues, and problems with stability. I didn't leave much of a legacy behind.
Card 5: King of Swords Reversed
The King of Swords is an intelligent leader, but as it's reversed, I believe I was more of a wife or a servant to someone in a position of power. I felt negatively towards this card, so I think it was a difficult and tumultuous relationship.
Card 6: Eight of Pentacles
I finally started to find my stride and grow. I never realized my goals because of the challenges faced, but I believe I found some semblance of happiness. I learned a lot of lessons to carry with me to the next life. Deck: @prismavisions

A holistic eye doctor was speaking, and recommended trying anti-blue light glasses. As someone who is in front of a computer all day for work, and generally has a difficulty sleeping, I figured I had nothing to lose.
They arrived around noon today, and I wore them for the remainder of the work day, and whilst using my tablet, phone, and watching TV.
Already my eyes feel less tired, but I’m not ruling out a placebo effect quite yet. Either way, I’m enjoying wearing them and they make the screen glare feel less intense.
Have you tried anti-blue light glasses? What’s been your experience with them?

It's Tuesday, and that means another edition of Te It's Tuesday, and that means another edition of Tea & Tarot Tuesday!
.:: THE TEA ::.
Organic Cold Zing by @davidstea is a green tea with lemongrass, peppermint, orange pieces, eleuthero root, echinacea, and natural lime flavouring. It's not my favourite tea to drink for flavour, but it is a nice, soothing tea when you're feeling the onset of a cold.
.:: FIVE OF PENTACLES ::.
The Five of Pentacles represents hardship, loss, poverty, and illness. It brings up feelings of loneliness and isolation, and often makes us feel like we're cursed.
We're out in the cold, and struggling. We are worried about our future, and our physical and mental health can both be affected as a result. It's hard to stand on your own two feet when you feel like the earth is falling out from underneath you.
One of my favourite keywords that I found when first learning Tarot and looked the card up on BiddyTarot was the "lack mindset". With the Five of Pentacles we are focusing on the loss, and making ourselves the victim. While we may be suffering a downswing, and may be a victim of difficulties, this mindset only causes us to remain stuck.
In the reverse, we can see a light at the end of the tunnel, and the card seems more optimistic. Recovery is coming, but it won't happen overnight - it will be slow and steady progress.
I always think of the Rider Waite Smith version of the Five of Pentacles, with the church windows in the background, and was surprised at all the different versions of this card. We do have a common theme of loss - rotten food, broken coins, and retreating spirits included.
.:: DISCUSS ::.
What are your thoughts on this card? Here are a few questions to get you started.
How do you interpret the Five of Pentacles?
What is your favourite representation?
When have you encountered the Five of Pentacles in your life?
How do you work on recovering from hardship and loss?
